First, a look at the events of the day.

Then, The Chase and Sanborn Hour starring Don Ameche, originally broadcast  July 4, 1937, 89 years ago with guest ZaSu Pitts.   Robert Armbruster helps Charlie McCarthy with his music. Hoagy Carmichael musically describes how he wrote Star Dust. Hoagy and Dorothy Lamour sing, "This Is How A Dream Should End," a tune written just for this program. ZaSu Pitts appears in a story about a "laundry drudge" who dreams of happiness.  ZaSu makes the mistake of asking W. C.  Fields if he likes frog's legs. 

Followed by Life with Luigi starring J. Carroll Naish, originally broadcast July 4, 1950, 76 years ago, The 4th of July Parade. Luigi is going to his first Fourth of July parade. 

Then, Anthology hosted by Gene Hamilton, originally broadcast July 4, 1954, 72 years ago, 4th of July Special. Recorded performances from Ronald Colman and Tyrone Power.  

Finally, Lum and Abner, originally broadcast July 4, 1935, 91 years ago, Off to Court. It looks like Squire Skimp is going to win his case. He's decided that he doesn't want to settle out of court!
