I've been reflecting on a time in my life when something I desperately wanted didn't work out, and how looking back now, I wouldn't change it for the world. Years ago, I was denied Australian residency. At the time, I was absolutely devastated. I felt like the future I'd been working towards had suddenly been taken away from me. But that disappointment led me back home to Wales, where I made a decision that would change my life in ways I never could have imagined. In this solo episode, I share the deeply personal story of returning home, choosing to spend time with my parents rather than chasing money and security, and how that decision allowed me to rebuild a beautiful connection with my dad.

I reflect on the simple moments we shared, including building a shed together, and how those experiences became even more meaningful when my dad became ill and eventually passed away. Looking back, it's made me question what true wealth really means. Is it the money we earn, the things we accumulate and the security we spend our lives chasing? Or is it our health, the people we love, the time we share and the memories we create along the way? For me, this experience was a powerful reminder that life doesn't always unfold the way we think it should. And sometimes, what feels like a devastating setback might be guiding us towards something far more meaningful. Because at the end of the day, I don't think any of us want to look back on our lives wishing we'd made more time for the people and things that truly mattered.
