Story Transcript:

Sk: V objatí teplého letného slnka kamenný internát stál hrdo na kopci.
En: In the embrace of the warm summer sun, the stone dormitory stood proudly on the hill.

Sk: Jeho staré múry porastené brečtanom priam žiarili v jasnom svetle.
En: Its old ivy-covered walls gleamed in the bright light.

En: Inside, the sound of students rushing through the echoing corridors could be heard.

Sk: V izbách bolo útulne, aj keď boli v starobylom prostredí.
En: In the rooms, it was cozy, even though they were in an ancient setting.

Sk: Dominika sedela pri stole v svojej izbe.
En: Dominika sat at the table in her room.

En: Her notebooks were open, and her eyes struggled to focus on the lines.

En: She needed to study to maintain her scholarship, but the red itchy spots on her hands distracted her.

Sk: „Prečo len mám tieto vyrážky?“ premýšľala nahlas, keď si nervózne škrabala predlaktie.
En: "Why do I have these rashes?" she thought aloud as she nervously scratched her forearm.

Sk: V minulosti sa jej nikdy žiadne alergie neobjavili; pre ňu to bolo nové a nepríjemné.
En: She had never had any allergies before; it was new and unpleasant for her.

Sk: Marek, jej kamarát, sa objavil vo dverách.
En: Marek, her friend, appeared at the door.

Sk: Mal v rukách futbalovú loptu a výraz plný momentálneho nadšenia.
En: He had a soccer ball in his hands and an expression full of momentary excitement.

Sk: „Dominika! Poď von, je krásne!“
En: "Dominika! Come outside, it's beautiful!"

Sk: „Nemôžem, Marek. Musím sa učiť. A tieto vyrážky ma otravujú,“ povzdychla si.
En: "I can't, Marek. I have to study. And these rashes are bothering me," she sighed.

En: "Maybe you should find out where it's coming from. I would go ask the teacher or someone who might know," suggested Marek, seeing her distress.

En: That evening, as she was passing by her roommate Iveta's room, she noticed the plants on the windowsill.

En: Iveta was inside taking care of them.

Sk: Dominika zaklopala a opatrne vkročila dnu.
En: Dominika knocked and cautiously stepped inside.

Sk: „Iveta, môžeme sa porozprávať?
En: "Iveta, can we talk?

Sk: Mám pocit, že moje vyrážky začali, keď si priniesla tieto rastliny.
En: I have a feeling that my rashes started when you brought these plants.

En: I don't want to blame you, but maybe it's them," Dominika explained with some nervousness.

Sk: Iveta bola prekvapená, ale nebránila sa.
En: Iveta was surprised but didn't resist.

Sk: „Oh, Dominika, to som nevedela.
En: "Oh, Dominika, I didn't know.

Sk: Na ani mi nenapadlo, že by to mohlo niekomu uškodiť.
En: It never occurred to me that it could
