In Iranian Retaliation, the commander of Khatam al-Anbiya, Ali Abdollahi, warned Israel and the United States against any miscalculation during former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s week-long funeral, promising harsh and regrettable responses if an attack occurs during the ceremonies. The funeral is slated to last a week and will span several major cities in Iran and Iraq, with ceremonies planned in Tehran, Qom, Mashhad, Najaf, and Karbala. Iranian media say millions are expected to participate, with the mayor of Tehran estimating 15 to 20 million attendees in the capital alone. Khamenei was killed in Tehran in joint United States–Israeli strikes at the start of operations Roaring Lion and Epic Fury in February, alongside his daughter, grandchild, daughter-in-law, and son-in-law, with his son Mojtaba having taken on the mantle of supreme leader.
