Thursday, July 2 on Urban Forum Northwest: *Earl Key, Senior Director of Transportation Equity, Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) comments on WSDOT's revised Small Business Program that complies with the anti DEI initiatives that allows for participation of women and minority owned firms seeking to do business with WSDOT. He is on the agenda later Thursday afternoon for the Washington State Chapter-National Association of Minority Contractor's (NAMC) monthly meeting. *Bob Armstead, president, Washington State Chapter-National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) talks about some of the barriers facing his members and minority and women businesses seeking to do business in the state. He's paying attention to one of the largest contracts that WSDOT will undertake soon, the bridge form Vancouver WA to Portland OR that will cost over five billion dollars. Contractors interested in getting more information can go to NAMCWA.COM at 5:00 pm Thursday afternoon. *Elmer Dixon, Owner, Executive Diversity Services and Co Founder, Seattle Black Panther Party talks about the legacy of the party and the current projects that have been completed and others that are in the works. Completed projects include, the Black Panther Park in Skyway, the mural in front of the old Panther office, the Interpretative Center that will be housed in the Metropole Building on Second and Yesler. And the Carolyn Downs Medical Clinic on East Yesler Way is the last standing Black Panther Party medical clinic in the country.. *Jazmyn Scott, Director, ARTE NOIR her organization celebrates and sustains Black art, artists, and culture by cultivating inclusive spaces, fostering opportunities and honoring community alongside the diversity and vitality of Black creativity. This past Sunday she hosted the Seattle King County Branch NAACP Afro Cultural Scientific Olympics (ACTSO) winners that will compete at the NAACP National Convention on July 17 & 18 in Chicago. *Randolph Cross of Seattle's Royal Esquire Club comments on the activities from the past month and invites you to the club's very popular First Friday. The members of the Royal Esquire Club raise money for scholarships are engaged in a number of community organizations that help uplift the community.
