In Israeli Domestic Politics, a video reportedly filmed by Israel Defense Forces soldiers in Gaza shows a Palestinian man who was blindfolded and bound, tied to a broomstick with zip ties and stripped to his underwear before being secured to a folding metal cot. The military says it investigated the footage and identified it as legitimate, with a command-level inquiry underway and those involved to be dealt with in line with its findings. The account sits against a backdrop of a United Nations inquiry alleging deliberate harm to Palestinian children by the Israeli military, describing the killings and injuries of thousands of children since October 7, 2023, including at least about 20,000 deaths and more than 44,000 injuries.
