Crotchet, Colorism, and Creatine Muscle Hole with Caleb Channing!
Description
In this episode of Butch Queen After Dark, David sits down with Caleb Channing: bodybuilder, crochet artist, and the man behind the viral dancing video that had the internet in a chokehold.
What started as a 10-second clip of Caleb dancing, twerking, and enjoying himself at Pride quickly turned into think pieces, body critiques, race debates, desirability politics, and people projecting their own insecurities onto one man simply having fun.
David and Caleb unpack the viral moment, the difference between jealousy and envy, why people struggle to witness joy they don’t feel entitled to, and how Blackness, colorism, masculinity, body image, and desirability all got dragged into a conversation that should have simply been about someone dancing at the club.
