Why is Jesus better than the angels? Hebrews 1:5-14: God never said to an angel "Thou art my Son," and to the Son He says "Thy throne, O God, is for ever."

"For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee?" (Hebrews 1:5). After a recap of Hebrews 1:1-4, Otis reads Hebrews 1:4-14. The Son took the form of a servant (Philippians 2:7), "Thou art my Son" comes from Psalm 2:7, and He was foreordained before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:20). The only begotten Son is set against the sons of God in Job 1:6.

Worshipping angels is a warning sign (Colossians 2:18; Galatians 1:8). They cover the spirit of antichrist, "forbidding to marry" (1 Timothy 4:1-5), and "Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light" (2 Corinthians 11:14). Angels are "ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation" (Hebrews 1:14), and Gabriel stands "in the presence of God" (Luke 1:19).

"But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever" (Hebrews 1:8). From there: the parable of the vineyard (Isaiah 5), whether angels look like men, the fulness of the Godhead (Colossians 1:15-20; 2:9), Isaiah 53, and "a body hast thou prepared me" (Hebrews 10:4-7; Psalm 40:6-8).
