Description
Comedy and Crime on a Thursday

First, a look at the events of the day.

Then, The Great Gildersleeve starring Willard Waterman, originally broadcast  July 2, 1952, 74 years ago, Fourth of July Speech.  Gildersleeve wants to deliver the 4th of July speech very much, but Judge Hooker is determined to be the one who makes it.

Followed by You Bet Your Life starring Groucho Marx, originally broadcast July 2, 1956, 70 years ago, The Secret Word is Name.  An unedited recording of a full show.  The hour would be edited down to just 30 minutes with commercials… Groucho’s guests include Tennis star Pancho Gonzalez.

Then, I Was a Communist For the FBI starring Dana Andrews, originally broadcast July 2, 1952, 74 years ago, Where the Red Men Roam. "The Battle Of The Bowl" doesn't go quite as the party would like it, thanks to Cvetic's brother and his new "girl" Tanya.

Followed by Boston Blackie starring Dick Kollmar, originally broadcast July 2, 1946, 80 years ago, Uncle Frank Murdered. Joe Parker murders his Uncle Frank for Frank's money. He's planned the perfect crime.

Finally, Claudia, originally broadcast July 2, 1948, 78 years ago, Still Coming.   Kathryn Bard and Paul Crabtree star.
