WARNING: Orlando Magic risk falling behind—Why free agency inaction could HURT Magic's title hopes

Episode 853 Published 2 days, 17 hours ago
Description

The Orlando Magic were (expectedly) quiet at the start of free agency as teams began signing and acquiring new players. The Magic are stretched to the limits under the NBA's salary cap rules. But their inaction is still presenting worries.

For a team this expensive, they should be competing for a championship. And the Magic still have a long way before they can do that. That should be increasing the urgency to improve the roster. Instead, the Magic seem content to run things back with a roster beset by injuries but still flawed nevertheless.

The biggest acquisition that seems to be coming is the return of a healthy Franz Wagner. A major addition indeed. But will that be enough to propel the Magic into contention?

The Magic's spot in the East is no longer assured.
