The Nazis spent World War II investigating the site, then burned their records when they left.   This episode works backward from the evidence at Houska Castle through medieval theology and Nazi occult research all the way to the Book of Revelation. The Abyss is not a metaphor. The Watchers are bound in a pit. And the medieval Church built a chapel over an entrance with the warrior angel standing guard.   Some places are closer to the Abyss than others. Houska might be one of them.
