BREAKING POINT: Orlando Magic Cut Jonathan Isaac, Front Office Faces PRESSURE to Adapt
Description
The Orlando Magic made their first move of the offseason, waiving Jonathan Isaac. It was an inevitable decision after his struggles in the last two seasons as the Magic used their out in case he got hurt and worked to improve their tight financial situation.
It was another painful reminder of the opportunity the Magic lost in the summer of 2024 when they opted to re-sign most of their own players and failed to make significant improvements to their roster. Now the Magic seem trapped with their roster and unable to make moves to take a step forward now that they are in the tax.
The Magic have done a lot of the big stuff right. They have the stars in place. But they have struggled to supplement with the kind of small moves that win championships. And it is already looking like a quiet summer for a team that desperately needs to improve more than just good health.
