The Night the Librarian Found a Man in the Reference Section at Three AM
Description
This week, Luna returns to the dim, dusty attic and the amber glow of the hurricane lantern to tell a story about a quiet Tuesday in late October, at the public library in the small town of Millbrook. She worked the graveyard shift there one autumn, reshelving books and cleaning the old wooden floors. One night, just past three in the morning, she heard the creak of the reference section's heavy door. A man sat at the long oak table, reading a book that wasn't on any shelf. He did not check out. He did not leave. And when she tried to speak to him, he turned a page without looking up. No one else was in the building. The security cameras showed nothing. But every night after that, the same man was there, at the same table, reading the same book. Luna never learned what he was reading. She never wanted to.
