The time is now 1:01 AM in New York, I'm Noa Levi and this is the latest Israel Today: Ongoing War Report.

In Operation Lion's Roar, the IDF says a week of operations left a toll of at least ten terrorists killed in the Gaza Strip and six terror targets struck in southern Lebanon. The Southern Command reports the ten terrorists killed included several who had invaded Israel on October 7 as part of efforts to locate and destroy underground terror infrastructure. Along the Israeli-Jordanian border, authorities say a smuggling attempt involving about ten kilograms of illegal drugs was thwarted. In Lebanon, the Northern Command struck six sites after terrorists in the area posed a threat to soldiers, and the military said seven Hezbollah operatives were killed who were transferring weapons near the Security Zone in southern Lebanon in a separate Friday announcement. This week also saw the IDF arrest over 100 suspects in the West Bank, described as involved with Hamas, the sale and possession of illegal weapons, or attacks on soldiers with stones and Molotov cocktails. As part of these operations, seven drones, combat equipment, and incitement materials were uncovered, and at least ten weapons were seized, including M-16 rifles, handguns, and several improvised weapons. In Beit Aryeh, IDF soldiers were dispatched after terrorist infiltration sirens sounded in the early morning hours; two suspects were reportedly seen and are being sought in what authorities describe as a developing story.

In US Policy Concerning Israel, Washington on Friday released the text of a trilateral framework between Israel, Lebanon, and the United States aimed at ending hostilities that have formed a violent second front in the Middle East war. The highlights of the 14-point agreement include a shared aim for lasting peace and security as the opening clause, with Israel and Lebanon declaring their intent to conclusively end the conflict, address its underlying causes, and formally conclude any state of war between them. The framework calls for verified disarmament through irreversible progress achieved via direct bilateral talks, with mediation and support from the United States. It also states that the Lebanese Armed Forces will restore effective sovereignty over all Lebanese territory, pending verified disarmament of non-state armed groups and dismantlement of their infrastructure, enabling the IDF to progressively redeploy out of Lebanese territory. The framework envisions a path to resolving all issues through direct talks guided by US mediation.

In Israeli Domestic Politics, Eisenkot filed a petition with the Central Elections Committee demanding that Bezalel Smotrich remove an AI-generated video he says is manipulative and aims to mislead voters. The petition, from Yashar Party leader Gadi Eisenkot, argues that the clip falsely portrays Eisenkot as advocating for a Palestinian state and depicts him shaking hands with Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Ra’am leader Mansour Abbas, with a flag substitution and text claiming that an Eisenkot government would create a Palestinian state. The filing calls for a clear boundary so that election campaigning does not become an arena for lies, manipulations, or fake AI content replacing facts. Separately, a public opinion survey conducted by the Jerusalem Center for Foreign Affairs and Security, with Lazar Research, indicates Israelis favor a hardline security stance on Lebanon, Iran, and the Palestinians. The poll shows 56% support military action against Hezbollah even if it could lead to direct confrontation with Iran, while 79% distrust ceasefires with Hamas and Hezbollah and doubt their effectiveness for long-term security.
