UAE's AI Is Now Scoring Your Work Permit Applications — Is Your HR Team Ready?
Published 2 weeks, 1 day ago
Description
The UAE Ministry of Human Resources has launched the MOHRE Eye AI platform — and it's already processing work permits at scale. In 2025 alone, MOHRE completed 13 million transactions using AI automation without any human intervention. As of May 2026, the Eye system is replacing human case officers as the first reviewers of routine work permit applications, scoring them against four criteria: professional skills, educational qualifications, prior work experience, and acquired knowledge.
If your HR team is still preparing work permit applications the old way — relying on procedural relationships and navigating ambiguity with a skilled PRO — you're operating in a system that no longer works the way you think it does. The Eye platform doesn't negotiate. It scores what it sees in the documentation you submit.
In this episode, we break down exactly what the Eye system evaluates, which sectors are priority processing lanes, and the three concrete steps every UAE HR team needs to take right now to avoid rejections and speed up approvals. We also look at the data privacy dimension — what UAE PDPL compliance means for the candidate information you're submitting to government systems.
The UAE's target is 100% AI reliance across all MOHRE services by 2031. For HR teams operating in one of the world's most competitive labour markets, adapting internal processes now means fewer rejections, faster hires, and a real competitive edge.
