Story Transcript:

Lt: Palangos paplūdimys, vasaros vidurdienis.
En: The Palanga beach, midday in summer.

Lt: Šilti vėjai glosto veidą, o jūros bangos švelniai dūzgia, jų garsai maišosi su džiaugsmingu Juoninių šventės šurmuliu.
En: Warm winds caress the face, and the sea waves hum gently, their sounds mingling with the joyful bustle of the Joninės festival.

Lt: Eglė sėdi po skėčiu, žvelgdama į jūrą.
En: Eglė sits under an umbrella, gazing at the sea.

Lt: Jau kurį laiką ji čia, bet jos oda nebe tokia švelni ir šviesi – ji raudona, skaudžiai deganti nuo saulės.
En: She has been here for some time, but her skin is no longer soft and fair – it is red, painfully burned from the sun.

Lt: Priežastis – pernelyg ilgas laiko leidimas saulėje.
En: The reason is spending too much time in the sun.

Lt: Eglė svajojo apie šią kelionę – Joninės Palangoje.
En: Eglė dreamed of this trip – Joninės in Palanga.

Lt: Norėjo pabėgti nuo rutinos, patirti nuotykius, pajusti vėjo ir laisvės skonį.
En: She wanted to escape from the routine, experience adventures, and taste the wind and freedom.

Lt: Tačiau dabar, vietoj linksmybių, ji kovodama su skausmu tepasi alijošiaus želė ant odos.
En: However, now, instead of fun, she is battling pain, applying aloe gel to her skin.

Lt: Mindaugas ir Rūta, jos draugai, artėja su nerimu veiduose.
En: Mindaugas and Rūta, her friends, approach with worried faces.

Lt: „Na, kaip jautiesi?“ – Mindaugas klausia, žvelgdamas į jos nudegimą.
En: “How are you feeling?” Mindaugas asks, looking at her burn.

Lt: „Skaudžiai“, – Eglė atsako, bet šypsosi.
En: “Painfully,” Eglė replies, but she smiles.

Lt: Ji nenori sugadinti šventinės nuotaikos.
En: She does not want to spoil the festive mood.

Lt: Rūta sėda šalia, dovanodama jai vandens.
En: Rūta sits down beside her, offering her water.

Lt: „Po skėčiu bus geriau.
En: “It will be better under the umbrella.

Lt: Nenusimink, galėsi dar šokti po mėnulio šviesa.“
En: Don't worry, you can still dance under the moonlight.”

Lt: Visiškai ramus paplūdimys – vaikai žaidžia, žmonės juokiasi ir sukasi aplink laužą.
En: The beach is completely serene – children are playing, people are laughing and dancing around the bonfire.

Lt: Eglė jaučiasi, tarsi būtų nepastebima dalis didžiulio paveikslo.
En: Eglė feels as if she is an unnoticed part of a large picture.

Lt: Ji trokšta pakilti ir prisijungti prie šventės, šokti ir dainuoti.
En: She longs to rise and join the celebration, to dance and sing.

Lt: Bet jos kūnas sako „ne“.
En: But her body says “no.”

Lt: Nauja galva ir rūpestis dėl savęs priverčia ją likti šešėlyje.
En: New thoughts and concern for herself force her to remain in the shadow.

Lt: Visai neseniai uždegė laužą.
En: The bonfire was just recently lit.

Lt: Eglė galiausiai nusprendžia apsivilkti laisvus drabužius ir lėtai aidėja link Mindaugo ir Rūtos.
En: Eglė finally decides to put on loose clothing and slowly ambles towards Mindaugas and Rūta.

Lt: Kaip tik laiku – dainos prasideda, o ji nusikvatoja su draugais.
En: Just in time – the songs begin, and she laughs with her friends.

Lt: Joninių laužo liepsnos kyla į dangų, auksinė šviesa apšviečia visus aplinkui.
En: The flames of the Joninės bonfire rise to the sky, golden light illuminating everyone around.
