#165 The Groundhog Day of Disclosure: Why the Same Questions Keep Coming

Season 3 Episode 165 Published 4 months ago
Description

After betrayal, one of the most exhausting patterns couples hit is what I call the Groundhog Day of disclosure: the betrayed partner asking the same questions again and again, while the partner who caused the harm feels like nothing they say is ever enough. In this episode, we unpack what's actually happening underneath that loop — why the repeated question isn't an interrogation but a nervous system trying to build a floor under itself — and how both partners can survive it without drowning.

We talk about:

  • Why answering "logically" doesn't create safety after betrayal

  • How consistency and tone build trust at a body level

  • The despair of "nothing is ever enough" — and the real risk it creates

  • Practical tools for both partners, plus a way to face the loop as a team
