The San Diego Padres have their first series sweep since mid-May, and this one may have been their most encouraging series of the season.

JP Sears made his long-awaited Padres debut and immediately gave San Diego exactly what they've been searching for at the back end of the rotation, allowing just two runs over 5.2 strong innings while earning his first win in a Padres uniform.

Ty France continued his hot streak with a 417-foot home run, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Samad Taylor once again injected energy into the lineup with two hits and two huge RBIs, while Xander Bogaerts continued his resurgence with another multi-hit game and an RBI.

After Atlanta cut the lead to one, the Padres answered immediately with a two-run rally highlighted by Taylor's clutch two-out single to put the game away.

Then the bullpen took over.

David Morgan delivered another huge bridge inning, Wandy Peralta extended his scoreless streak to 13⅓ innings, and Jason Adam finished it off with another clean save as the Padres bullpen continued to prove it's among baseball's elite.

The Padres have now won three straight, completed their first sweep in over a month, and suddenly have momentum heading into the next series.
