The Miami Heat have completed their trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, adding another team that believes it can advance deep into the Eastern Conference. The Orlando Magic are among those teams, too, but now face a much more difficult set of teams fighting for a spot in the East.

In all, likely 12 teams believe they can make the Playoffs this season. There are only eight spots in the final field. If the Magic are going to climb, they will have to overcome a conference where the margins are much tighter and the teams are getting better.

That puts even more emphasis on filling holes in the offseason. But the Magic started things off with a quiet first round, making no moves with the roster or in the Draft. With their pick coming up in the second round, the Magic are unlikely to find a contributing player, but must do everything they can to take that next step and add somebody important.
