Story Transcript:
Cy: Mewn gwres llethol yr haf, y Sahara yn gorwedd fel carped goleuaf sy'n cael ei brywsio gan haul poeth.
En: In the oppressive heat of summer, the Sahara lay like a luminous carpet being brushed by the scorching sun.
Cy: Yr awyr yn las dwfn uwchben, a'r tywod yn symud fel tonnau tawel o'r môr.
En: The sky was a deep blue above, and the sand moved like gentle waves of the sea.
Cy: Ar dirwedd mor sych, roedd Gareth, twrist Cymreig, yn dychmygu môr o eira a mynyddoedd o rhew.
En: In such a dry landscape, Gareth, a Welsh tourist, imagined a sea of snow and mountains of ice.
Cy: Roedd e'n hoff o eira, er ei fod bellach yn serch mawr am adeiladu 'dyn eira' yn y Sahara er mwyn ticio ei restr 'bucket list'.
En: He loved snow, though now he was quite keen on building a "snowman" in the Sahara to tick off his bucket list.
Cy: "Beth am geisio rhywbeth newydd, Gareth?
En: "How about trying something new, Gareth?"
Cy: " gofynnodd Elin, cysgodlu o dan ymbarel.
En: asked Elin, taking shelter under an umbrella.
Cy: "Mae'n ormod o wres fan hyn, stori doniol i'r rhai sydd eisiau profiad bythgofiadwy!
En: "It's too hot here, a funny story for those who want an unforgettable experience!"
Cy: "Gyda Rhys yn edrych a sypreis, dywedodd Gareth, "Bydd eira yn fwy poblog nag unigedd y Sahara un diwrnod!
En: With Rhys looking surprised, Gareth said, "Snow will be more popular than the isolation of the Sahara one day!"
Cy: " gyda gwên o gyffro.
En: with an excited grin.
Cy: Roedd ei obaith a’i optimistiaeth fel sêr disglair ar noson dywyll.
En: His hope and optimism were like bright stars on a dark night.
Cy: Er gwaethaf y tywydd tarthog, cafodd Gareth syniad.
En: Despite the hazy weather, Gareth had an idea.
Cy: "Mae eira yn annhebygol, ond beth am ddefnyddio llaeth camel a tywod?
En: "Snow is unlikely, but how about using camel milk and sand?"
Cy: " dywedodd Gareth, ei wyneb yn llawn penderfyniad.
En: said Gareth, his face full of determination.
Cy: Gyda chymorth Rhys ac Elin, aethant ati i siapio tywod a mater gawodlledig o laeth i greu ffigur tywod.
En: With the help of Rhys and Elin, they set about shaping sand and a showering matter of milk to create a sand figure.
Cy: Roedd y camelod lleol yn symud heibio, yn talu ychydig o sylw i'r gweithgaredd anacablogaidd yma, ond roedd rhai pobl leol yn gwylio gyda chwilfrydedd.
En: The local camels moved past, paying little attention to this unconventional activity, but some locals watched with curiosity.
Cy: Wrth i’r haul gyrraedd ei uchaf, a’r tymheredd yn codi, dechreuodd y ‘dyn tywod’ or-ymledu a toddi.
En: As the sun reached its zenith, and the temperature rose, the ‘sandman’ began to spread and melt.
Cy: Roedd tywod mewn llinynnau bach a buan iddo ddiflannu i gyfiawl llac o wrthdir.
En: The sand dripped in little strings and soon disappeared into a loose expanse of opposite terrain.
Cy: Gan wybod ei waith caled wedi chwalu’n banig, lwgodd Rhys a’i gwmni ar y gwbl, chwerthin a gwelw.
En: Knowing their hard work had plunged into disarray, Rhys and company laughed heartily and chuckled.
Cy: "Na i wneud cestyll tywod y tro nesaf," meddai Gareth, dal yn chwerthin wrth ei dofnod.
En: "I'll make sandcastles next time," said Gareth, still laughing at the record.
Cy: Mae'r gwersoedd syml yn dyngos i Gareth mai tynerwch ac addasu yw’r iachawr wrth fwynh
