There is something we do not talk about enough. We talk about being supported. We talk about being seen. But we do not talk often enough about what it takes to genuinely celebrate another person. Not in a superficial way. Not in a polite way. But in the way that actually honors what someone else has done or become or overcome. And I think that silence matters. Because celebrating others is one of those practices that sounds simple until you try to do it with your whole self, and then you discover it is actually one of the more difficult things a person can do. So I want to sit with that with you today. Not to tell you to be better at it. Not to add another item to your list of things you should be doing.
