Description
Climate change is increasingly affecting Ireland’s water resources through more frequent
flooding, heavier rainfall, drought periods, and rising temperatures.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), only 52% of Ireland’s surface
waters are currently classified as being in good or high ecological status, highlighting
the challenges facing water quality management across the country.
As a retired Senior Chemist with Wicklow County Council, Dave Harrington brings valuable
expertise on how climate change is influencing Ireland’s water environment and what can be
done to protect it.
