The Golden Knights are still in the mix to get Dylan Larkin, the current Red Wings captain, via a trade.  VGK, Florida and Minnesota are the top three choices for the center.  It is believed that the Golden Knights would have to move its leading goal-scorer Pavel Dorofeyev and add some other pieces to complete the trade.  Jack Eichel and Larkin are friends.  Adding Larkin would give VGK a 30-30 player on its second line. It would also pair him with Mitch Marner and Brett Howden.  The Golden Knights were not successful in the bid to acquire Brady Tkachuk, who joins his brother in Florida to form a potent second line with Sam Bennett in the middle.  VGK didn't have the assets available for starters - as the Panthers gave up four draft picks, including two this year.  And we continue with our coverage of the Bruce Cassidy saga, as a report said VGK was upset the Oilers wanted to get permission to interview Cassidy while they still had a head coach.
