For three weeks, we've been looking at a cord: threefold, unbreakable, woven before the first wedding ever happened. We've seen that the Trinity is the original relationship, that the man was woven in first and called to image Christ in sacrificial love. This week, we come to the third strand, the one whose presence secures the portrait and makes it visible to the world. In Genesis 2, God looked at everything He had made and said for the first time: not good. Not because something was broken, but because the picture wasn't finished yet. She wasn't made to complete a man. She was made to complete the picture of God.
