Trevor Rogers was flat-out dominant—and the Orioles just held on.

Rogers carved up the Dodgers over 7 innings, allowing just 1 hit and 2 walks while retiring 12 straight at one point. It was vintage stuff from the lefty, looking every bit like the pitcher who posted a 1.81 ERA across 18 starts in 2025. He controlled the game from the jump and gave Baltimore exactly what it needed.

Then the 9th inning happened.

Andrew Kittredge gives up a solo shot to Shohei Ohtani, and things spiral quickly after. Yennier Cano enters and a defensive miscue from Leody Taveras—his 3rd error in 4 games, and the Orioles’ 4th straight game with an outfield error—allows another run to score. Suddenly, a shutout turns into a one-run game with all the pressure on.

But Cano slams the door.

With the tying run looming, he strikes out Kyle Tucker on a splitter in the dirt to end it—escaping the chaos and sealing a 3-2 Orioles win.

Offensively, Baltimore did just enough. Coby Mayo plates the first run with an RBI fielder’s choice, and Blaze Alexander delivers the biggest swing of the night—a bases-loaded, 2-run double off Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Alexander continues to thrive in clutch spots, now hitting .350 with runners in scoring position.

It wasn’t clean. It wasn’t comfortable. But it’s a win—and a big one. The Orioles improve to 6-11 in one-run games, and this one had everything: dominance, mistakes, and a heart-pounding finish.
