Industrial farming has left much of our soil depleted, so fruits and vegetables grow with fewer nutrients than they used to carry. That same soil affects the meat and fish in our food chain too. Then produce travels thousands of miles and sits for days or weeks, losing nutrients the whole way, so what lands on your plate is not what was picked.
