Description

Whats up boys and girls, ladies, and gents. It’s time for another episode of the podcast. I am home and finally back from about a month straight of trade shows. Had a blast catching up with everyone and meeting tons of new people. Huge Thank you to everyone who stopped me to say hi, I am still blown away at how many people listen to the show every week and just thank you for all the support. I had so much fun just having out and hanging out with folks that I only recorded two podcasts. Which is fine I have a ton of great interviews lined up with some truly great under the radar type folks that I think you guys will really like. This week is from the Hunt Expo though and a podcast collaboration of sorts. Today I’m joined today by the crew behind finding backcountry podcast, the Wittwer Brothers, Dustin and Jason, and Corey Beckendorf. I really wanted to talk to Jason about big Muleys but with three elk guys against one Mule Deer guy, I’m sure you know where the conversation went. There are some good takeaways this episode from newbie to veteran, I like how it turned out. Had a blast with these guys and I will definitely have to have Jason back on to do a Muley Monday.

One reason I am pumped to be back from the show is to get back to work on the Backcountry Fuel Box. For those who haven’t heard, I am launching a new subscription box called Backcountry Fuel Box. Each month we are going to send you a box of backcountry meals and snacks to try out with each box having $40-$50 dollars worth of cool new products. I am super excited to finally get this thing out to you guys and so far at the shows people have been overwhelmingly in support of it. The first box will go out March 20th ish. We are taking pre-sign ups which is just your email, and if you sign up I am going to give away 3 free boxes to those of you who pre-register and take the survey. That closes this Sunday so get your name in the hat. Also, be on the lookout for a Backcountry Fuel update episode next week because we have a really cool giveaway next week. Go check it output your email in, take the 2-minute survey and you could be one of three lucky people to win a free box of goodies.
This episode is also made possible by the good folks at On X Maps and the On X Hunt app. Now is tag draw season and any serious hunter is doing a boatload of research to find that sweet spot that no one else knows about. One commonality I have found among the top hunters in the world is that they read maps like no one else. they know how to find the honey wholes that nobody has been into in years. On X is a great tool for this. When I am researching new areas I have my On X account pulled up and I can use various layers to scout areas I have never been to
