A LEAGUE MATCH

A LEAGUE MATCH

Published 1 week, 2 days ago
Description

After a long time I finally played a proper league match again, and it had to be Arsenal vs Everton. Everton are 17th on the table so I thought it’d be easy, but football is never that simple. From kickoff I was creating chances, breaking them down, but nothing was going in. I missed so many clear opportunities it was embarrassing. Open goal, one-on-one, simple tap-in… I fluffed them all. At that point I was just praying I wouldn’t concede from one counter.

The match was controversial too, not gonna lie. One or two calls from the ref had me shouting at my screen, and Everton were playing rough, wasting time, doing all the “small team vs big team” tactics. I kept pushing though. Kept missing, kept trying. My heart was racing because I knew if I didn’t score soon, they’d steal a point. Then finally one chance fell right, I didn’t overthink it this time, just hit it and boom — 1:0. That single goal felt like a World Cup final winner.

Full time 1:0 and I was both relieved and frustrated. Won the game, took the 3 points, but missed so much I could’ve won 4:0 easily. That’s league football for you — you don’t always play perfect, you just have to win ugly sometimes. Everton made it hard even at 17th, but Arsenal got it done. Now I’m just happy I’m back in the league grind after a long break 😂
The match was very intriguing tho
