Episode Details

The Philadelphia Phillies fall to the Mets 6-4  in game one of their three-game set.  

Aaron Nola was done after five innings allowing three runs on seven hits and a walk while throwing 97 pitches with six strikeouts.  

The Mets added another three runs on Jose Alvarado in the 7th inning. Alvarado appeared to be out of the inning after allowing a go-ahead RBI single to Eric Wagaman. The lefty looked like he stranded runners on first and second with two outs after getting Marcua Semien to chase a 2-2 Cutter in the dirt and the Phillies began to walk off the field. Then home plate umpire Brian Walsh ruled it a foul tip that bounced off the dirt. The VERY NEXT PITCH, Semien put it off Monty’s Angle for a two-run triple.  

The Phillies runs came off two RBI base hits by Alec Bohm, a RBI single by Derek Hill and an RBI single by Justin Crawford. Phillies got a gift in the 3rd inning when Kyle Schwarber reached 2nd on a wild pitch third strike, the came around to score on one of Bohm’s base knocks.  

Schwarber had a chance in the bottom of the 9th with two on and two out, but hit a seed right at the right fielder Brett Baty.
