Stereo sound without a second speaker position sounds like a cheat code for awkward spaces, but that is exactly what Amina Technologies is aiming for with the Sapphire Dual. We break down the announcement in this Inside CI News Brief and explain why it matters for custom installation professionals who are balancing performance, on-site speed, and demanding interior design requirements. If you are specifying invisible speakers, plaster-in loudspeakers or whole-home audio, this one is worth a few minutes of your time.
We explore what the Sapphire Dual is, where it fits best, and the practical installation problem it tries to solve: places like hallways, landings, utility rooms and cloakrooms where stereo placement is difficult and visible grilles are a non-starter. The new model builds on the Sapphire range launched in 2025 and is designed to deliver left and right audio channels from one discreet location, using four independent drive units within a single panel. We also cover the key size details (450 mm by 345 mm, 31 mm deep, or 70 mm with the optional back box) so you can quickly judge where it might work in real-world builds and retrofits.
We then zoom out to the bigger system story. Amina says the Sapphire Dual is engineered to maintain the same warm, full-bodied sonic character as the rest of the Sapphire range, helping integrators maintain a consistent listening experience across a property, even when different room sizes call for different models. Like the wider Amina portfolio, it is based on Distributed Mode Loudspeaker (DML) technology, meaning once it is installed and plastered into a wall or ceiling, the speaker effectively disappears into the building structure itself.
