Fi: Veikko istui tietokoneensa ääressä ja katseli selaimen ikkunasta, miten naapurit valmistautuivat juhannukseen.
En: Veikko sat at his computer and looked out from the browser window, watching how the neighbors were preparing for juhannus.
Fi: He asuivat Espoon rauhallisessa aidatussa yhteisössä.
En: They lived in a quiet gated community in Espoo.
Fi: Koko paikka oli täynnä kesän vihreyttä ja lintujen laulua.
En: The whole place was filled with the greenery of summer and the song of birds.
Fi: Juhannuskoristeet roikkuivat talojen ovilla ja suurta kokkoa rakennettiin järven rantaan.
En: Juhannus decorations hung on the doors of the houses, and a large bonfire was being built by the lake.
Fi: Veikkolle tämä kaikki tuntui vieraalta.

Fi: "Taidan olla enemmän sisäänpäin kääntynyt, näin koodarin hommissa," hän mutisi, mutta nousi kuitenkin ylös, tietäen ettei täti antaisi periksi helpolla.
En: "I guess I'm more introverted, being a coder and all," he muttered, but got up nonetheless, knowing his aunt wouldn't give up easily.
Fi: Pirjo oli aina ollut perinteiden puolestapuhuja ja Veikko tiesi, että tämä ilta voisi olla hyvä tilaisuus päivittää hänen tuntemustaan suomalaisista juhlista.
