Russian warship fires at yacht in English Channel

Description
A Russian Navy vessel fired warning shots at a civilian yacht approximately 450 metres away in the English Channel, about 20 nautical miles south of the Isle of Wight, just outside UK territorial waters. Russia's defence ministry claims the shots were fired to divert the yacht, which was approaching on a dangerous course after attempts to establish radio contact failed. No injuries were reported in the incident.
