Historic Ukrainian cathedral destroyed in Russian attack

Historic Ukrainian cathedral destroyed in Russian attack

Published 1 week, 3 days ago
Description
The Dormition Cathedral at Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, a UNESCO World Heritage site and 1,000-year-old Christian church, caught fire during Russian missile strikes on Ukraine that killed 11 people. The cathedral roof was set ablaze at one of Ukraine's most significant religious and cultural sites. Russia claims the cathedral was struck by a US-made defence missile, while France's foreign minister compared the attack to bombing Notre Dame.
