Burger restaurant chain Grill'd is being sued by the ACCC over allegations of greenwashing related to its Tree Day Tuesday campaign. The promotion promised to donate a dollar for every burger sold to plant trees, but only 4 per cent of sales translated to donations due to detailed terms and conditions that weren't clearly disclosed to customers. The consumer watchdog alleges the campaign misled millions of Australians.
