Major changes to prostate cancer testing rolled out

Published 1 week, 3 days ago
Description
New prostate cancer testing guidelines are being introduced across Australia to improve early detection rates. Currently, 10 Australian men die from prostate cancer daily, totalling approximately 4,000 deaths annually. Former Labor Treasurer Wayne Swan, who was diagnosed 25 years ago, is advocating for a national screening program similar to existing schemes for breast, lung and bowel cancer, as early detection through PSA blood tests can be life-saving.
