Former Carlton AFL vice-captain Nick Stevens has been sentenced to nine months in prison for defrauding six Mildura families of $168,000 in a swimming pool scam in 2017. Stevens provided unfinished or defective pools, and in some cases left only holes in the ground, operating without permits. The sentence accounts for 78 days already served, meaning Stevens could be released by the end of the year, after which he must complete 120 hours of unpaid community service.
