She Vanished… Then Appeared in a Canal | Ann Ballantine
Description
In January 1987, the body of 20-year-old Ann Ballantine was pulled from the freezing Union Canal in Edinburgh.
She had been raped, bound, strangled, wrapped in an old carpet, and stored for months before being dumped — yet her murder remains unsolved nearly 40 years later.
In this deep dive we cover:
• Ann’s life as a kind-hearted charity volunteer
• The disturbing timeline and forensics of the crime
• Her family’s belief they know the killer
• True crime author Chris Clark’s theory linking the case to convicted killer John Taylor (The Beast of Bramley) — the man behind the murder of Leanne Tiernan
A tragic Scottish cold case filled with unanswered questions, body storage parallels, and conflicting suspect theories.
Justice for Ann 💔
