Maine Motorcycle Safety This Summer
Description
Summer’s here, and with more bikes on Maine roads come more risks—three fatal motorcycle crashes already this year. While fewer than last year’s 24, every life lost is a tragedy. Officials urge drivers to check blind spots and riders to wear helmets, stay visible, and never ride impaired. This summer also brings memorial rides honoring fallen riders—and pushing for safer streets. The fourth annual Doug Burnell Memorial Bike Ride kicks off July 11 at 10:30 AM at Thomas College Ice Vault. It’s a community event to remember, rally, and ride safely. Let’s all look out for each other out there.
