Projected starters for both teams are Ryan Lynch (UNC) & Maxx Yehl (WVU).

The Mountaineers and Tar Heels met in the 2024 Super Regional  in Chapel Hill with the Tar Heels advancing to the College World Series with 8-6 and 2-1 victories.
