Maitie Mag Toghearnan intervened during a stabbing attack in Belfast using his son's hurling stick to stop the alleged knifeman and protect victim Stephen Ogilvy. Despite being hailed as a hero, Mag Toghearnan insists his actions were simply a natural reaction to assist someone in danger. He has decided to donate the more than £30,000 raised in his honour to the victim, Stephen Ogilvy.
