Operation Nighthawk, a police operation targeting crime in Melbourne's northern suburbs, resulted in 31 arrests earlier this month for aggravated burglary, dangerous driving and motor vehicle theft. Local police worked alongside the Dog Squad and Air Wing to apprehend car thieves who attempted to flee from officers. Since launching in September last year, the operation has achieved more than 180 arrests and laid 527 charges.
