The Night the Librarian Read the Final Shelf
Description
In the small town of Mapleton, Ohio, Luna visits the McCoy Memorial Library — a building so quiet she can hear her own heartbeat. The head librarian, Mrs. Dellarosa, has worked there for forty-three years. She knows every book by spine, but there's one shelf, on the third floor, behind a locked door, that she has never touched. The shelf is labeled 'FINAL SHELF — DO NOT READ.' Luna asks why. Mrs. Dellarosa says it's not that the books are dangerous — it's that they're unfinished. They were written by people who died before they could finish them. And the library has a rule: once you start a book on that shelf, you cannot stop until you reach the last page. And sometimes, the last page isn't the end. It's a name. Yours. Set in late October, around 11 p.m., under flickering fluorescent lights that hum like something breathing.
