毎年５月下旬から６月初旬にかけてアメリカは高校・大学の卒業式シーズンとなります。今は大学生になった娘もそうしたアメリカの卒業式を経験。カトリック系の高校のため、ニュージャージー州にある有名な大聖堂で行われました。卒業式に着る服装と式の様子を通して私が感じたアメリカの文化について語ります。ぜひ、聴いてくださいね。
“Thrilled by the Cathedral! A Glimpse into American Culture at a Graduation Ceremony”
Every year, from late May to early June, it’s graduation season for high schools and colleges in the U.S. My daughter, who is now in college, also experienced one of these American graduation ceremonies(Commencement). Since she attended a Catholic high school, the ceremony was held at a famous cathedral in New Jersey. I’d like to share my thoughts on American culture as seen through the attire worn at the ceremony and the atmosphere of the event. I hope you’ll tune in!
