The Rays complete the sweep of the Red Sox, winning 7-5. The Rays got the scoring started in the 3rd inning. Taylor Walls helped manufacture a run after hitting a sac fly that scored Nick Fortes. The Rays really broke the game open in the 5th inning. It started with a RBI infield single by Yandy Diaz to make it 2-0. Then Austin Slater hit a RBI double to make it 3-0. Ryan Vilade caped off the scoring in the inning with a Sac Fly that made it 4-0. The Rays got an extra run in the 6th with a Yandy Diaz RBI single to make it 5-0. The Red Sox started their comeback in the 8th inning. They put up 4 runs in the inning to make it 5-4. But Cedric Mullins would give the Rays some much needed insurance in the 8th. He destroyed a 2 run homer to give the Rays some more breathing room at 7-4. The Sox got another run back in the 9th, but it was to little to late after that. Drew Rasmussen started for the Rays and was fantastic. He went 7 IP striking out 13 hitters and not allowing any runs. The Rays have an off day tomorrow, then they head to California to take on the Angels.
