Bus Patrol installed AI cameras in tens of thousands of US school buses to catch drivers passing stopped buses, and now those cameras are being turned into automatic license plate readers that log every vehicle they drive past and feed the data to law enforcement. Leaked internal documents show the company knew the plan was controversial (including ICE concerns) but bet that the "protect the children" framing would keep people from pushing back.
