The biggest bet in the history of money is happening right now, and most people are scrolling right past it.
$700 billion. This year alone. On AI. It is the largest building project humanity has ever attempted, bigger than the railroads, bigger than the internet.
Here is the part nobody says out loud: the same companies making that bet are quietly handing the risk down toward regular people's retirement accounts. It is almost the exact playbook from the 2008 housing crash. New name, same move.
But it is not all warning signs. I also found the most hopeful story I have heard in a while: an 83-year-old man who used AI to rebuild the history of his 1960s military service and hand it down to his grandkids.
So is AI a dangerous bubble, or is it just getting started? My honest answer in today's episode: maybe both. Just like the railroads, the early money can get wiped out while the technology still changes the world.
