Former world boxing champion Barry Michael's son has been charged with murder after allegedly fatally stabbing a man outside a Footscray hotel. The accused, who suffers from mental health issues including psychosis and schizophrenia and has been battling amphetamine addiction, had been sleeping rough for 12 months. His father says his son had been crying out for help and believes the system has failed him.
