Mississippi maintained its ranking as the nation’s 16th-best state for K-12 education in the Annie E. Casey Foundation’s 2026 KIDS COUNT Data Book, which was released on Monday. But the report ranked Mississippi 49th in economic well-being, 50th in health, and 49th in family and community.
