Published 2 weeks, 2 days ago
Description
Queensland construction company owners Quentin and Kylie Burt have pledged $40 million to fight motor neurone disease, making it one of the largest private donations in Australian history. The donation was announced during the Big Freeze event at the MCG, which drew a record crowd of 88,000 people wearing blue beanies in honour of AFL great Neale Danaher. The fundraising event, which featured Sam Mack sliding into icy water dressed as Bluey, is expected to raise over $20 million in total contributions.
