Stop Just Reading the Bible: How to Actually Encounter God by David Hodges on Sunday, June 7, 2026
Published 4 days, 17 hours ago
Description
"Don't just read the Bible. Don't sit down every morning and just read the Bible. Sit down with Him who is the word and allow the word to become alive in you."
— David Hodges
-- True revival is a co-laboring between God and humanity. It is not just a sovereign act that happens to us; it is a partnership where we must be found faithful in our generation to see God's will fully executed.
-- We often ask God to rend the heavens and come down, but the truth is He is already present. The barrier to revival is often our own hearts set on earthly things, which causes God’s plans to be set aside for another generation.
-- Revival is not just about the excitement of the "breaking out" phase. It is about the battle that follows. Just like Jesus in the wilderness, after we experience personal revival, we must overcome the temptations of the flesh, the eyes, and the pride of life.
-- We need a Malachi 4 style move where fathers turn their hearts to their sons and sons to their fathers. This is not just a youth movement; it requires the wisdom and intercession of the elders to pass the torch to the next generation.
-- Taking authority means stepping into what is broken and reclaiming it for the Kingdom. It requires us to lay aside politics, doctrines, and religious division to come into one mind and one accord, just as the disciples did in the upper room.
